Is TeamSnap free?

Yes, TeamSnap has a free plan, and for a small team it covers a lot. The catch is in the details: the roster size and one feature most organisers want first. Here's what's free and what isn't, all from TeamSnap's own pages, read on 23 October 2026.

In short

  • Yes: TeamSnap's free plan covers scheduling, messaging, assignments, payment collection and rosters of fewer than 15 players.
  • Availability and RSVP tracking (who's coming) is on the paid Premium and Ultra plans, not the free one.
  • Premium allows rosters above 15 players; Ultra has unlimited roster spots. New teams get a free trial.
  • The team owner pays for a paid plan; team members don't pay extra for its features.
  • Clubs and leagues get custom pricing, and TeamSnap+ is a separate subscription for streaming replays and drills.

What TeamSnap's free plan includes

TeamSnap describes the free plan as for small teams starting out. It includes:

  • Scheduling: games, practices and events in one calendar.
  • Messaging: team chat and communication.
  • Assignments: handing out jobs like snacks or driving.
  • Payment collection.
  • Rosters of fewer than 15 players.

What the paid plans add

TeamSnap shows its current prices on its own pricing page; we don't repeat them, because they change.

  • Premium: availability and RSVP tracking, so you can see who's coming; drills and practice plans; no ads for owners and managers; rosters of more than 15 players.
  • Ultra: everything in Premium, with unlimited roster spots.
  • Free trial: TeamSnap offers new teams a free trial of the paid features.
  • Who pays: for an independent team, only the team owner can pay for and manage the plan; members don't pay an additional fee for paid features. For a club or league, the organisation pays.
  • Clubs and leagues: custom pricing for the organisation, through TeamSnap's sales team.
  • TeamSnap+: a separate subscription for live-stream replays, custom clips, 1080p streaming and at-home training. TeamSnap says its core features stay free.

Who TeamSnap suits

TeamSnap is built for coaching a team through a season: youth teams with parents, adult league teams, clubs and leagues, with a roster, a schedule of games and practices, jobs to hand out and fees to collect in the app. If that's you, it's a strong choice, and the free plan is a fair way to try it. We compare it with other apps on the TeamSnap alternative, Spond vs TeamSnap and TeamSnap vs Heja pages, and in the best football team management apps. Clubs that want their own branded app and website also look at Stack Team App.

If you run a weekly pickup game

A weekly game with friends needs less of a season manager and more of the three things that go wrong every week: who's in, fair teams and who's paid. Squadcard is built for that: players say in or out from a link in the group chat with no download, teams are picked from ratings the whole group gives after every game, and it tracks who owes for the pitch (it never takes or moves money).
