Fair teams for 10 players
Ten people, two fair sides of five. Paste who's playing, say roughly how good each is, and the generator does the picking, so nobody's stood there waiting to be chosen last.
Ten makes a 5-a-side
Ten players is a full 5-a-side game: five each, usually with a keeper on each side or a rush goalie. With one or two more, see the subs tips on the 5-a-side page.
Better than captains picking
Captains picking takes ages, puts the two best players on opposite sides but everything else at random, and someone always goes last. Balancing on everyone's level gives closer games, and nobody has to be picked last.
If someone drops out
Remove their name and pick again. With nine, the generator plays five against four and gives the four the stronger players.
Fair every week
The generator is only as fair as the levels you pick. In Squadcard, everyone rates everyone else after each game, so the ratings come from the people who were there and the teams get fairer on their own. Plus player cards that move with your form, a player of the match and a Team of the Week.
Questions
How do I split 10 players into two teams?
Paste the ten names, set how good each one is, tick any keepers, and tap Pick fair teams. You get two sides of five with totals as close as they can be.
Is it random?
No. It tries thousands of splits and keeps the fairest one; Reshuffle gives you a different fair split of the same ten.
Can I share the teams?
Yes. Copy for the group chat puts both teams in a message ready to paste into WhatsApp or anywhere else.
How do I stop guessing how good everyone is?
Squadcard does it for you: after each game everyone rates everyone else out of 10, and the app picks the teams from those ratings. Only totals are ever shown.
