How ratings and cards work

Your card is your squad's opinion of how you play, updated after every game. Here's exactly where the numbers come from.

Your rating for one game

After each game, every player who played gives every other player a score from 1 to 10. Your rating for that game is the average of the scores you got.

Once six or more people have voted on you, the single highest and the single lowest score are dropped first. One grudge, or one best mate, can't swing it.

When a game counts

A game moves your card only when it's a fair sample:

  • Enough voters: at least four people must have voted on you. Your organiser can raise that to five in the squad's settings.
  • Not a friendly: the organiser can mark a game "don't count this one for ratings".
  • Not voided: an abandoned or rained-off game counts for nothing.

Your card's overall rating

Your card follows your recent form: newer games count for more than older ones, so a good month shows and a bad night doesn't stick forever.

When you join, your card starts from the rating you gave yourself. After a few games, your squad's votes take over. The squad page tells you which one you're looking at.

Ratings are your squad's own. An 80 on Tuesday's squad and an 80 on Sunday's aren't the same thing, because different people are voting.

Bronze, silver and gold

The colour of your card follows your overall rating:

  • Gold: 75 and over.
  • Silver: 65 to 74.
  • Bronze: under 65.

The six stats

Under the overall are six stats: Speed, Finishing, Passing, Skill, Defending and Strength. They start from your position, so a new keeper's card doesn't read like a striker's. After that they move with the tags your squad gives you when voting:

  • Rapid: Speed.
  • Clinical: Finishing.
  • Playmaker: Passing.
  • Magician: Skill.
  • Wall: Defending.
  • Engine: Strength.

Banter tags and your own tags

If your organiser switches on banter mode, voters also get cheeky tags like Ball hog or Moaner. They're for fun and never change a card. Squads can add tags of their own too, which come with Squad Pro (pricing).

Special cards

Some weeks you earn a card with its own look: for being player of the match, for a hat-trick, for a keeper's clean sheet, for reaching a milestone number of games, and for awards at the end of a month or a season. They're earned on the pitch, and nothing about them is random.

Why votes are private

Nobody can see who gave what: not your squad-mates, not the organiser. Only totals are shown. That's what keeps the scores honest, and it's why a game needs several voters before it counts. More on playing it straight in the squad guidelines.

Questions

Why didn't my card move after the last game?

Most likely too few people voted on you (it needs at least four), or the organiser marked the game as not counting for ratings, or voting hasn't closed yet.

Can I see who rated me low?

No. Individual votes are never shown to anyone, not even the organiser.

Can the organiser change my rating?

No. Ratings come only from votes. The organiser can decide a game doesn't count, or void it, but can't set anyone's number.

Does scoring goals raise my rating?

Not directly. Goals and assists go in your stats and can earn a special card, but your rating is what the people you played with voted.

I gave myself too high a rating when I joined. Does it matter?

Not for long. Your starting rating fades out over your first few games as real votes come in.

Is Squadcard free?

Joining a squad, voting, your card and stats are always free. Starting a new squad needs Squad Pro (7 days free on the yearly plan), and one Squad Pro covers the whole squad. Squads started before 5 October 2026 stay free.
