The minigames

Three quick games for the days between matches: a penalty shootout, a football quiz and guess the rating. One counted go a day each, and a leaderboard against your squad.

One go a day

Each game has one puzzle a day, the same for everyone, and one go that counts. Practice is unlimited and never saved. A new day starts at midnight UTC, wherever you are; the game shows a countdown to the next one once you've played.

Sign in to save your score and appear on the boards. Without signing in you can still play, but nothing is kept.

Daily penalty shootout

Five kicks against today's keeper, who is the same for everyone. Play it here.

  • Top corner: 3 points. Sides: 2. Down the middle: 1. A save or a miss: 0. The most you can score is 15.
  • Flick the ball towards the goal: it goes where you let go, and a faster flick is a harder shot. Hit it too hard and high and it goes over.
  • The keeper gets sharper with each kick, and sometimes leans before you shoot.

Daily football quiz

Five questions, easy to hard, 15 seconds each. Play it here.

  • A right answer scores 100, plus up to 50 for speed. The most you can score is 750.
  • The clock starts when you press Start, not when the page opens.
  • Close the page part-way and you carry on from the next question when you come back.
  • Yesterday's questions and answers have their own page the next day.

Guess the rating

Higher or lower with your own squad's cards: you see one player's number and guess whether the other's is higher or lower. Play it here.

  • Ten rounds, one point each. The same ten for your whole squad that day.
  • It uses each player's overall rating and six stats, as they are today. Never anyone's votes.
  • Your squad needs at least four cards. In more than one squad? You get a go with each.
  • Not in a squad yet? You play with a made-up demo squad, and nothing is saved.

Leaderboards

After you've played, each game shows boards for today and for this week (Monday to Sunday), for everyone and for each squad you're in. On equal scores, the quicker player is higher.

The everyone board shows first names and an initial only. Guess the rating has squad boards only, because every squad plays its own pairs.

Streaks and kings

Finish a game on consecutive days and you build a streak, shown from the second day. Miss a day and it starts again; you have until the end of the next day to keep it going.

Each week, the best scorer in your squad at each game becomes its king of the week, shown on the squad page for the week after. It's for bragging rights only: the minigames never change anyone's rating, card or awards.

Questions

When does the new game start?

At midnight UTC every day. Once you've played, the game shows how long until the next one in hours and minutes.

I played but my score didn't save.

Scores are saved only when you're signed in. If the save failed on a bad connection, the penalty shootout offers "Try again" with the same kicks, and the quiz lets you resend your answer.

Do the minigames affect my card?

No. They're separate from ratings, cards, awards and votes.

Why can't I see my squad on the board?

Squad boards show for squads you're a member of, and list only the members who've played that day or week.

Is Squadcard free?

Joining a squad, voting, your card and stats are always free. Starting a new squad needs Squad Pro (7 days free on the yearly plan), and one Squad Pro covers the whole squad. Squads started before 5 October 2026 stay free.
